I went to Leopold Cafe and Taj Palace this weekend. It looked like a war zone with entire area being barricaded. I was so overwhelmed with the smell of fear and anger in the air.

The Making of a Sweetgrass Basket

The Making of a Sweetgrass Basket, originally uploaded by Tylfe.

The art of basketmaking was brought to South Carolina by slaves who came from West Africa more than 300 years ago. For generations the art has been passed down from mother to daughter to granddaughter.
I chatted with Alfreda for awhile .......she is the 5th generation of her family who has been taught this art form . I wanted a photo of the artist who made my basket and she very sweetly obliged me .

The land of song

The land of song, originally uploaded by Time Grabber.

The Welsh National Opera Millennium Building sits behind the old Cardiff docks (Cardiff Bay) pierhead building. A carousel fairground ride is situated in the centre. Wales is sometimes refered to as the land of song. At the time of taking the photograph I was travelling towards the buildings on a water taxi commanded by the infamous Capt' Gorgeous.

My Walk in Freedom

My Walk in Freedom, originally uploaded by Tylfe.

We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude. Freedom doesn't come without a cost .... it is fought for, by brave men and women , who believe the prize is worth the price . My heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you ....I honor you this day and walk in freedom because of your dedicated service .
